Very good food and good service
Lunch specials end at 4 😁
Food and service were great. A ton of sushi options options in addition to the traditional hibachi dishes. Everything we ordered was good.
The owner was very friendly, and the food was delicious. Good prices.
Good sushi and good service
A cockroach crawled on my table under my plate and they still charges us full price. Disgusting.
RUDE!! From the moment we walked in, they were rude. Ordered drinks, the waitress was rude. Asked a question about the menu, received a rude answer. So we just left. Never going back there.
Wow! It was our first time here! We didn’t have a reservation but still let us in. They say us right away since we were two. They were practicing social distancing so there was empty tables all around us. Service is really fast but not too friendly. I’m not saying they were rude at all. Food is great! All are served with miso soup even thou portions are very filling. If you’re not too hungry share a plate. Ambiance and deco was great too and tempayaki as well. Amazing, just amazing!
We had some great food and awesome service here! Our server took great care of us. Will definitely be back when we're in town 😎
Friendly staff; great food; quick service, yakisoba noodles were tasty!
Had a great dinner and an even better time. The hibachi chef and the wait staff were very friendly and efficient and even took time to have a drink with us along with the owner. If I’m in South Padre again I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Had several great rolls - shrimp, calamari and lobster rolls. Rolls ran from $12 to $18. Then we split a tempura seafood mixture that came with shrimp, scallops, fish and veggies- all great. The meal came with miso soup and a Japanese salad. We also had margaritas which were good. Service was good as well. We will come back.
I wish I could remember the name of the staff because they were some of the most amazing service employees I've met. The food was outstanding, but obviously pricey (you're paying for sushi folks). The chef, waitress, and cook performer were so generous, attentive and hilarious. To the owner: whoever served the four Indian guys at close deserves a raise/promotion. I'll be recommending this place to everyone, and I hope they're there. To all customers: make sure you get the fried ice cream for dessert!!
Good sushi and hibachi. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices.
Their fish is really great. And I loved the food there.
Nice , there was no wait when we got there. The food was awesome. Good portions, with salad and soup at the hibachi table.
Overcharged my CC. Tipped cash as I normally do, and it wasn’t a bad tip. Server: Trisha Date: 7/21/20Food was good, service was good. One of the managers approached us and he took off his mask to talk!! But other than that, it was ok. I would go back if they hadn’t overcharged me. It was only $10, bought one of the most (if not the most) expensive plates they have and that’s how they treat me? Paid over 80 for two...Not going back. Plenty of great restaurants in the island to choose from.
Went for Hibachi but saw regular tables, I wasn't asked if it was table dining or Hibachi. I arrived at 8pm. It was an awesome place. Great food. First time tasting Miso soup, it was delicious. My food was so tasty. 4 stars because my waiter just dropped my food in a hurry and ran. Never asked if I needed any thing else, I wasnt offered dessert or a refill. I will definitely be back a second time for the hibachi. Hopefully I won't get a waiter in training.
We waited 30 minutes to get our drinks. We received our entree before the appetizer. The chef apologized and offered the meals on the house if we waited an hour for our food. After finishing the meal, they overcharged us an added over 25% gratuity. Awful experience overall
This place is Amazing!
So the food here is fantastic. In fact we ordered takeout twice in a row. We loved the Pad Tahi, fried tofu and vegetables, mongolian beef, General Tsoas and the vegatble fried rice was fantastic! The down side is if your ordering takeout the portions are very small so ordering extra is a must. We were feeding 7 people, Adults and teenagers. Also we picked it up and the staff is pretty inattentive. My husband waited 10 min and then had to go up to a waiter to ask for help. When I went I waited 20 min for my food even though I had ordered 40 minutes earlier. So the food is wonderful but the service needs some work
Did not get to eat here because the service was atrocious. We walked in and sat in the little waiting area. First thing we saw was a cook arguing with what looked like the owner. They had no hostess so we sat for 15 minutes while a server with pink hair locked eyes with me a total of 4 times and never acknowledged us. I got up to ask her if it was self seating or if someone would come to help us (it's happened before that we wait but it's self serve) anyways she told me "we don't have tables right now can you wait a minute". So rude. If you know you're busy you could have told me the 4 times you looked at me. It doesn't take much to be kind, if she would have acknowledged us and told us they were behind we would have waited another 30 minutes.
Good food. So much varieties in rolls. Good staff.
The chicken teryaki was good, needs more sauce though. I love the misu soup. Restroom needs more cleaning though. Decent clean place. The price is fair.
delicious! fresh and so many options. got a boat for 2. cant remember the exact name. was about $55. was supposed to come with a dessert, but i guess they forgot it. but that fed the 2 of us dinner and lunch the next day! waitress was nice. will be going back!
First time here and I loved it! The service was great and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend.
I had lunch today and everything was on point! My server, Tracy, was kind and attentive and the food was prepared very well and in a timely manner. I haven't been in a few months but I hope to have more experienced like this one!
Ate here last night and the teppanyaki was great and prices were reasonable too! The sushi was so-so but we would definitely be back!!
We only do tabletop hibachi here and are never disappointed! Besides being a fun experience, the food is always cooked to perfection and you can't get better fried rice anywhere! Our favorite Japanese restaurant in SPI!
Trash 🗑 waited for 40 minutes to take our order to go, never took our order, didn't have a system to seat people and was pack beyond what the 25% recommended is, no one was at the bar and waiters were not properly wearing masks. Didn't order and left horrible
Best food ever! Super nice employees with phenomenal customer service!! We were even greeted by the owner who recommended the best dish I have ever eaten! 😊 Thank you!
We really enjoyed this place. The owner went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of after a seating challenge. Miso soup and 2 incredible roles that were actually on the appetizer menu. Wish I could remember the names. We will definitely come back next time we are in town
Great service. Good food.
I'm giving this place 1Star, just so I can review it. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in to the time we paid and left, it was awkward and uncomfortable. This is a Hibachi restaurant. You go here to have a fun dining experience. I'll just say - never refilled our drinks, forgot 2 hibachi orders, the sushi came out late and was warm, we got the soup and salad during the cooking portion, the cook told us he got 9% of the tip and the waitress got the other 9% and how unfair it was. He complained the entire time, dropped his utensils on the floor, picked them up snd still used them. The manager told the cook if he didn't like it, he can leave. It was the kind of show we weren't expecting.
Sushi was great! My wife had their Kung pao and she said it was really good. Definitely recommend this spot.
Jesus Christ...I don’t know where to begin. You’re paying for for “eh” sushi at good sushi cost. The chicken fried rice tasted burnt and the portions were small. I get better sushi in DFW. I also ordered a Jack and Coke and I couldn’t finish it. The waitress literally poured half Jack and half Coke in the glass. Also, take your copy of the receipt and be sure to fill out the copy they keep....I didn’t trust my waitress as far as I could throw her with how she was sharking our table.
Not bad. Not great. Fried green tea ice cream was good, but over done with all three ridiculous toppings. Recommend fried green tea ice cream, just tell them to hold the toppings.
Excellent staff. Lengthy Sushi menu. Great location. Check it out. It's a great family place.
Great food! 10/10 would hibachi again.
Loved everything about this place. The owner is such a character, he make you feel like you belong here. The waiter in thre other hand must of been new. When mt food arrived he just basically threw it and left ( rushed) without me asking for sauce. He came 15 minutes later ( I was not pleased with him at all) the owner made me feel so welcome. 100% recommend.
Located in SPI, just shy of the causeway . Had early dinner. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Extensive menu reasonably priced. Food is very good, will be visiting again. Chef very nice and cooked food while we watched, very enjoyable time. Parking is limited since restaurant is located in a strip mall.
Very disappointing birthday dinner. Looks good, had no taste. For such a high price I expected the food to have some flavor. It was $3 for a fountain drink that tasted like the carbonation mixture was off. There was also ~15% gratituity included in the check. The waitress asked if I wanted change back, I said yes, she gave back the bills but she helped herself to the coins. Very disappointing experience overall.
The food is delicious. There is an appetizer " monkey brain" dont let the name fool ya. It avacado and some yummy stuff. My personal fave. They have lunch specials and the dinner rocks. When we go to SPI it a spot i like to hit up
We waited an extra 30 minutes for a to go order which wasn't even a big deal until we got home to find very small portions... looked like one of the dishes had been halved to make two orders. Flavor was ok, didn't make up for the fact that we couldn't feed the whole family despite ordering enough dishes.
Great food + great friends = Life is good!
Overpriced, overcharged and small portion. Ordered takeout beef hibachi and shrimp hibachi and calamari tempura and was charged $78 for it. Got no soup or salad
You will have a hard time finding this on google maps, but if you look up sushi, there it is. Very fresh sevice was good. Even a Sushi chef, and Su chef on site.
3 servers were not wearing their masks but had them pulled down to their neck. Sorry but I’m not putting my family at risk. Paid for drinks we didn’t drink at all and left. When I told server we were leaving he leaned into me with no mask. We however were wearing masks. Went next door and got pizza
After a long day at the beach we went to Kohnami for a dinner. At the restaurant they were following 6ft distance guideline. We ordered Singapore noodle with shrimps, crazy roll sushi, bolgogii beef and vegetables goyza. Everything tasted delicious. I really enjoyed the Singapore noodle it was creamy, aromatic and delicious!Crazy roll was good too. When we went there the place was a about to close down so it felt like server was rushing. Other than that it was good
Owner tries his best to greet and please. Had a couple of vegan options that tasted good. Unfortunately I was hoping the waitress would wear a face covering but she didnt. I felt with all the interacting she does with everyone the chances of her picking up covid19 is not irrelevant.
Great service, amazing Hibachi cook, delicious food!
Our waitress was very nice despite being the only one on the floor. Our sushi dishes were very good and plentiful. I was the only one to go non-sushi and went with the Chicken Thai Coconut Curry, which is a favorite of mine. I will say that it lacked a little in seasoning and had no pepper flakes like I am used to, but it had some nice vegetables in it and was more than I could eat. I would recommend this place.
